Is a custom scale retained when the sheet scale is modified?

When the sheet scale is modified in SolidWorks, any custom scale that has been applied to specific views is overridden. This behavior ensures that the presentation of the drawing adheres to the newly set sheet scale, which is crucial for maintaining consistency across the drawing and ensuring that dimensions and annotations are properly aligned with the overall scale of the drawing.

By default, a sheet scale is meant to unify the scale of all views on the sheet, and when you change it, it takes priority over any individual custom scale previously set for a view. Thus, even if views were dimensioned or scaled using a custom scale, they will revert to the new sheet scale when that setting is adjusted.

This design aspect aids in preventing confusion that could arise from having different scales within the same drawing context, which would complicate interpretation and accuracy. In contrast, linked views or specific view types do not influence the overall behavior concerning the retention of custom scales when the sheet scale changes.
