What happens to the scale of a drawing view if the scale of the entire sheet is changed?

When the scale of the entire sheet is changed in a SolidWorks drawing, the scale of the drawing views also changes. This is because drawing views are typically set to a scale relative to the overall sheet scale. Therefore, if you increase or decrease the sheet scale, all views that are dependent on that scale will adjust accordingly to maintain their relational sizes.

It's important to understand that in SolidWorks, the drawing is designed to reflect the scale set for the entire sheet, which means that any global changes to the sheet scale directly impact the individual scales of the drawing views. Consequently, if the sheet is scaled up or down, each drawing view will resize proportionately to maintain the correct representation of your model in relation to the modified sheet context.

This is not the case for drawn detail views, as those views may have independent scaling factors set prior. Therefore, if the drawing views do not have individual scale settings separate from the global sheet setting, any alterations to the sheet scale result in an equivalent change in the drawing view scale.
